My air condition compressor stop working during the day and go back and work during evening. 3 certified technicians checked it out. It was not very low on refrigerant. the second technician added 1.7 pound of refrigerant …rigerant. They checked the capacitor and all wiring. The 3rd technician concluded that the compressor is bad. But that does not make since to me. It is working during the night. is my system small? Is it just overloaded?
That 3th tech. probably did a continuity check when the overload was open.As it cools down and closes the compressor come back on.You got circulation problems somewhere.High pressure is building up in the system.Tell those people to send someone out that knows something about refrigeration systems.

Im trying to recharge the r-134a refrigerant in my caddy. You have to have the air compressor running to recharge the system. When the r-134a is low, the air compressor has a safety switch that switches off so that you don't burn up the compressor. The haynes manual i have says you have to find the low pressure cycling switch and attach a jumper wire to start the compressor. I need to know where that switch is. Thanx Geniuses!
The cycling switch is on the compressor itself. Remove the wire harness attached to the compressor and jump between two of the post. You will have to try the different ones to see which two need to be jumped. You will know you have it when the compressor kicks in.

Jumping a hot lead to the clutch causes the clutch to engage but I still do not get any cooling from the air conditioner. If the coolant is low would that keep the clutch from engaging and is there wiring between the on switch and the compressor?
You may just be low on Freon. Most vehicles have a pressure switch that not allow the Compressor to come on if it low on Freon. Add a can and see what happen. Also, the switch usually around the Drier, it the "Can/Ta …ll know the switch as it have 2 wires (If I remember correct). You can unplug it and use a paper clip, wire etc. to jump it and see if the Compressor engage, if it does you either low on Freon or the switch itself is bad.
